The inaugural 2019 Vinylthon Awards are created to recognize the very best albums released in the past year (2019). The awards only recognize the vinyl format versions of those albums.

For our first year of awards, there are three categories, one of which is open to the public, and the remaining two categories, ALBUM OF THE YEAR and BREAKOUT ALBUM OF THE YEAR, are chosen by the radio stations that participate in the annual Vinylthon event every April:
 

• Vinylthon ALBUM OF THE YEAR
  Eligible artists can be anyone from anywhere

• Vinylthon BREAKOUT ALBUM OF THE YEAR
  Recognizing an upcoming and emerging artist
  that has produced a remarkable album

• Vinylthon PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD FOR BEST ALBUM
  Eligible artists can be anyone from anywhere
   

Members of the public may only vote once for the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD FOR BEST ALBUM.

Voting is open from December 8th to December 16th - with the winners announced on December 23rd.
All winners will receive an engraved award to recognize their achievement.
