THE 5th ANNUAL VINYLTHON WILL BE EPIC!

What an incredible day Vinylthon 2019 was!

142 radio stations in ten countries came together and played glorious vinyl on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

We'll do it all again on Saturday, April 18, 2020! If you are a radio station, we hope you will register. If you are not a radio station, you can become an Official Supporter of Vinylthon 2019 (check out the options in our shop)!

Vinylthon is the radio industry’s celebration of vinyl and the day coincides with the celebrated and hugely successful annual Record Store Day. We invite all radio stations, AM, FM or online, either non-commercial or commercial, to join this fun event that resonates with listeners and broadcasters alike. Plus, it’s for a good cause.

Many radio stations play at least an hour of vinyl on the day, but some go for the full 24 hours! Special programming is also made available for participating radio stations to play on the air if they wish, as part of their Vinylthon celebrations. Some stations have special guests on the air, live studio performances, and deluges of listener requests! Many stations find their audiences are very passionate about vinyl and engagement is high for the event.

By participating, stations are not only demonstrating their love of the vinyl format, but are supporting college radio too.

Vinylthon is a fundraiser event for the next generation of broadcasters - students who are currently involved with college radio stations in the USA, and the world, who will one day become professionals. All proceeds go to the College Radio Foundation (an all-volunteer non-profit) who organize the Vinylthon to give grants to college radio stations to stay on the air by purchasing and repairing needed equipment.

We hope you'll join us for Vinlython 2020!
